What the phone stores

The slate fields (scene, take, roll, production, director, camera) and the beep setting. Each take you clap goes into the shot log with its time, the slate fields and any note you add. Days you file with Wrap day go into a second file. Both files sit in the app’s own storage, each with a backup copy so a damaged save can be restored. There is no account.

If your phone backs up apps to iCloud or Google, that backup can include your shot log. Apple or Google holds it under their own terms, and we cannot read it.

What leaves the phone

Your takes, notes and slate fields leave the phone only when you share them. Share CSV and Share PDF write the log or a wrapped day to a file and open your phone’s share sheet, and the file goes only where you pick. Tell a crew member shares a short note with the Take Slate web address. Privacy policy and Email support in Settings open your browser or mail app.

When the app opens, it checks with RevenueCat whether you own Take Slate Pro, using an anonymous app user ID and, if you bought Pro, the store’s record of that purchase. RevenueCat also receives the network details any request carries, such as IP address, operating system version and app version. Your takes, notes and slate fields are not sent.

RevenueCat’s dashboard shows us purchase counts and revenue from those records. Beyond that, the app has no analytics, crash reporting, ads or advertising identifier.

Take Slate shows no permission prompts and does not use the camera, microphone, photos, contacts or location. It keeps the screen awake while the slate is open, which needs none. The beep is a sound file inside the app. On Android, the app holds network access and Google Play billing for the Pro purchase, and Android grants both at install without asking.

Purchases

Take Slate Pro is a one-time purchase charged by Apple or Google. There is no subscription. We never see your payment card or store account details.

Kids

Take Slate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think we have, email us and we will delete what we hold.

Deleting data

Delete take removes one take. Settings → Clear shot log removes every take in the current log. Delete day, in Wrapped days, removes one wrapped day. Uninstalling the app removes everything on the phone. There is no server copy of your takes.

A purchase stays on your store account and comes back with Restore purchase. To ask us to delete the purchase record RevenueCat holds, email us with the purchase date and the order number from your store receipt.
