Who we are

What the phone stores
Your pets (name, species, health, growth, habitat and the day you adopted each) and one row per day: screen minutes, your daily goal, focus sessions, and whether it was a good day. Also your settings, your invite code, and a friend’s code if you enter one. There is no account.
On Android, the home-screen widget reads your pet’s name, pictures, mood lines and your daily goal from a storage area on the phone that the app and widget share, and counts today’s screen minutes itself through Usage access. The iPhone app has no widget yet.
If your phone backs up apps to iCloud or Google, that backup can include this data. Apple or Google holds it under their own terms, and we cannot read it.
Screen time
On Android, Awayling asks for Usage access. It reads which apps were in the foreground and when, and turns that into daily screen minutes on the phone. Only the daily minutes are saved. App names are not saved and not sent anywhere. It also notes when the screen turns off, so time with the screen locked is not counted as screen time.
On iPhone, Awayling does not read Screen Time data. It counts the focus sessions you start in the app and notes when the phone locks during one.
Notifications
The 8pm note is a local notification, off unless you turn it on. There are no push notifications.
What leaves the phone
At launch, the app checks with RevenueCat whether you own Awayling Keeper, using an anonymous app user ID and the store’s purchase record. RevenueCat also receives the network details any request carries, such as IP address, device model and app version. Your pet and your screen minutes are not sent.
On Android, the first launch reads the Play Store install referrer to see whether you came from an invite link. Only the invite code is kept.
A share card shows your pet’s name, species, stage and mood, your minutes under goal or your focus sessions for the week, your good days, and an invite link with your six-character code. It goes only where you send it through the share sheet.
RevenueCat’s dashboard shows us purchase counts and revenue from those records. Beyond that, the app has no analytics, crash reporting, ads or advertising identifier.
Purchases
Awayling Keeper is a one-time purchase charged by Apple or Google. There is no subscription. We never see your card or store account details.
Kids
Awayling is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think we have, email us and we will delete what we hold.
Deleting data
Uninstalling the app removes your pet and your history. There is no server copy to delete. A purchase stays on your store account and comes back with Restore purchase.
To ask us to delete the purchase record RevenueCat holds, email us with the purchase date and the order number from your store receipt.
If this policy changes, the new text is posted at this address with a new date.
