Personal data and information we collect
We do not receive your measurements, calculations, saved jobs or exported sheets. The only information that leaves the app is what our purchase processor RevenueCat and the store receive when the app starts and when you buy or restore: an anonymous app user id, platform, app version, phone model, operating system version, language, store country, the request IP address and, on iPhone, the device identifier for vendors. The table under "What leaves your phone" lists it.
What stays on your phone
Your tapes, saved jobs, calculation sheets, units and settings stay on your phone. The app works offline. There is no account, no sign-in and no server of ours that receives this data.
Your phone's own backup (its cloud backup, if you use one) may include the app's data, like any app's. Uninstalling the app removes it from the phone.
What leaves your phone
| What | Who receives it | When |
|---|---|---|
| A Pro purchase: an anonymous app user id, platform, app version, phone model, operating system version, language, store country, the request IP address and, on iPhone, the device identifier for vendors | RevenueCat (our purchase processor) and the app store you bought from | When the app starts and when you buy or restore. No measurements or jobs are sent. RevenueCat uses it to verify purchases, show your Pro status and report purchase totals to us, not to track you or advertise. We do not set an email or advertising id. RevenueCat keeps purchase records for as long as it needs them to show your Pro status and meet its legal and accounting duties. To ask for them to be deleted, write to us and we pass the request to RevenueCat. |
| A request for the More from Scrolling Is Evil list: your IP address, the time and the file asked for (scrollingisevil.com/more-apps.json) | Cloudflare, which serves scrollingisevil.com | When you open the More from Scrolling Is Evil list. The request carries no id and nothing you entered. |
| A calculation sheet or a copied result | Whoever you choose | Only when you tap Share or Copy. A sheet can carry a small line with a link to the app if you turn that on in Settings. |
| An email | Us | Only when you write to us. Nothing from the app is attached. |
The app has no advertising, activity analytics, attribution or crash-reporting software; the purchase data above and the list request are the only things sent. The app may ask once for a rating through the system rating prompt; the store handles your answer and we do not receive it.
This website
The calculators at scrollingisevil.com/feet-inch-calculator/ run in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent to us. Cloudflare serves the pages and keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page asked for).
Your control
Uninstalling the app removes its data from the phone. It does not remove phone backups, purchase records held by RevenueCat or the store, or sheets you already sent elsewhere. To ask RevenueCat to delete purchase records, write to us.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
